Golf. It offers a lifetime of challenge and competition, socialization and inclusion, rehabilitation benefits and leisure. Individuals from all walks of life, across the lifespan, and at all levels of ability advocate the benefits of this game. For this reason, a team of national golf associations including the United States Golf Association, The Professional Golfers Association of America, The PGA Tour, the Ladies Professional Golf Association, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. The National Golf Course Owners Association, Club Managers Association of America, the First Tee and other associations serving individuals with disabilities have joined together to make the benefits of golf available to all, including people with disabilities.

The goals of the National Alliance for Accessible Golf are:

  • Increase the opportunities of people with disabilities to play golf.
  • Increase awareness of the needs of disabled golfers among golf course owners and operators, teaching professionals, and other professional golf management staff.
  • Advance scientific understanding of the benefits of golf for people with disabilities.
  • Provide technical assistance to golf course managers and teaching professionals about assistive and mobility devices to utilize in golf instruction.
