Accessibility and PCI Compliance

The National Alliance for Accessible Golf is committed to using technology to improve access for people with disabilities. ACCESSGOLF.ORG incorporates the following features to provide access for people using this site with assistive technology like screen readers, Braille keyboards and other types of equipment. We welcome your comments on the usability of this web site. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email the webmaster at info@accessgolf.org.

Visual Design

The pages within National Alliance for Accessible Golf use simple HTML tables for layout in order to display consistently across browsers and platforms. Cascading style sheets are used for all other visual effects. If your browser or browsing device does not support style sheets at all, the content of each page should still be readable.

Text Size

This site uses only relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified “text size” option in visual browsers. You can also use the “Text size” buttons featured on every page of this site to make the text bigger or smaller.

Access Keys

Most browsers support jumping to specific links by typing keys defined on the web site. On Windows, you can press ALT + an access key; on Macintosh, you can press Control + an access key. All pages on this site define the following access keys:

Access key 1 – Home page
Access key 2 – Skip to content
Access key 3 – Skip to navigation
Access key 4 – Search
Access key 0 – Accessibility statement

Navigation Aids

All pages have rel=home, contents, and help links to aid navigation in text-only browsers. Netscape 6 and Mozilla users can also take advantage of this feature by selecting the View menu, Show/Hide, Site Navigation Bar, Show Only As Needed (or Show Always).

Links

Many links have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail, unless the text of the link already fully describes the target. Links are written to make sense out of context.

Images, Captions & Descriptions

All content images used in this site include descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics include null ALT attributes. Most photos have captions immediately following the image. In addition to captions, descriptions of the photo contents are presented as ALT Text.

Videos & Captioning

Streaming video clips are presented throughout National Alliance for Accessible Golf. Synchronized captions have been included with all videos so that all individuals can enjoy them.

To enable/disable captioning in RealPlayer 8 and earlier : select Preferences by right-clicking in the video display window. Select the Content tab. Choose Settings from the Accessibility section at the bottom. Check (or uncheck to disable) the "Use accessibility features when available" checkbox. Selcet OK, then OK again in the Preferences window. You will need to restart the video for your changes to take effect.

For RealOne: Start the RealOne player. Select "Preferences" from the Tools menu at the top. Click on "Content" in the left pane, and check the box that says "Use supplemental text captioning when available."

Standards Compliance

All pages on this site comply with the vast majority of priority 1, 2, and 3 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines . All pages on this site should validate as HTML 4.01 Transitional . All pages on this site use structured markup. H1 tags are used for main titles, H2 tags for subtitles.
